Elden Ring has been abeyant. It's not news we wanted to hear, either, but granted how long information technology's been in development, on with the sheer scope of the project leads us to not beryllium surprised in the least.

Originally slated for January 21, 2022, Elden Ring was one of the first hugely anticipated games off the blocks for next year. Now, it's been pushed in reply to just over a month later, on February 25. Information technology's not the biggest delay we've ever so seen, and we've stomached much worse (looking you, Cyberpunk 2077) but Elden Ring now finds itself releasing aboard some pretty bowelless competition.

That same week sees the outlet of the Destiny 2: The Witch Queen elaboration as well as a such hoped-for serial reboot in the form of Saints Row. Ohio, not to mention a unknown PS5 title past the constitute of Horizon Forbidden West. What a workweek, huh?

Thankfully it's not all doom and sombreness. As mentioned in the confirmed squeeze above, a lucky smattering of fans will get to play Elden Ring too soon, thanks to a blinking network test happening in Nov 2021.

Analysis: Delay as very much like you need

Is it disappointing that Elden Ring has been delayed? Of course it is. Both Soulsborne and action RPG fans generally are chomping at the routine to get their hands on FromSoftware's most ambitious title up to now. However, if a hold as minor as this allows the team to grant the game that a lot extra culture, then we say take at it.

As mentioned earlier, Elden Ring is a massive title, and the nature of unrestricted world games is that there's usually far Thomas More game to work through QA testing to help iron tabu bugs and glitches on a more important scale. Not to mention that Elden Ring is being developed for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC too as last-gen's PS4 and Xbox One, and there's greater chance for problems to arise on several systems.

If Elden Ring out necessarily a pocket-sized Sir Thomas More time in the oven, then so represent it. Nobody wants the game to comprise a disappointment, so if the delay gives FromSoftware the extra clip and resources it needs to iron the creases, the game will be all the best for information technology.

In the interim, there's plenty of other titles to keep us busy. Final Fantasy 14's next big enlargement, Endwalker, is out this November, alongside Forza Horizon 5. December (hopefully) gives us Anchor rin Infinite, and should Elden Ring need whatsoever further delays, fountainhead, we stimulate Saints Row, Lot 2 and Horizon Proscribed West to fall back on.
